Author-it Cloud Launched (Wed, 14 Dec 2011)

Author-it Software Corporation has announced the launch of Author-it Cloud, an interesting development in enterprise content authoring. Author-it Cloud is essentially the popular Author-it Enterprise Authoring Platform re-engineered as an on-demand, Software as a Service (SaaS) package. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you simply access Author-it via the Internet, therefore avoiding software and hardware management. This simplifies deployment and reduces upfront costs. Author-it will continue to support its traditional On-Premises software for clients who prefer it.

FrameMaker and XDocs Integration (Thu, 01 Dec 2011)

Bluestream - a provider of DITA-enabled Component Content Management System (CCMS) solutions - has allied with Adobe to provide tighter integration and advanced connectivity between FrameMaker10 and Bluestream's XDocs CCMS v3.0. This tighter integration promises enhanced productivity for content creators. The connector in XDocs CCMS v3.0 provides FrameMaker (FM) 10 users with increased dexterity and greater control over XDocs content. FM10 users can now access files and perform more actions on content in the XDocs repository all from within the FM authoring environment.

The XDocs CCMS Online Reviewer module allows SMEs to comment and mark up DITA content from the XDocs repository in a familiar word processing interface using only a Web browser. The Online Reviewer tightly integrates with XDocs Workflow to provide a seamless and more productive process for content creators. In addition to reviewing DITA documents, the Online Reviewer gives SMEs the ability to contribute new content directly in the DITA document.
